Measuring Tape

Often it’s the small difference that make a great product. The TAL-meter measuring tape is a great example of this. With it’s smart marking system and extender the tape can be used to measure and mark internal and external distances effortlessly. Reducing the need and inaccuracies caused with using a pencil.

TAL-meter

The tape measure was launched in 1954 in Stockholm by it’s inventor Ture Anders Ljungberg, (TAL). He developed the 2 foot tape in his garage after becoming frustrated with the mis-measuring that occurs with a conventional tape measure. Like all great products a full range of spare parts is readily available should the need arise.

Hammer

Estwing has been making hammers since 1923. They take pride in manufacturing everything to the highest standard, and at iyoebo, we always reach for their leather handled claw hammer when we need to hang up a new picture.

estwing hammer

Both the head and handle are forged in one piece on this beauty. The leather grip makes it incredibly comfortable to use and apparently it will wear to the shape of your hand over the years, making it very uncomfortable for anyone else. That should keep them out of your tool box!

Compass

GPS is for wimps! We love the awareness you need of your surroundings to navigate with a map and compass at iyoebo.

LARGE_com_exp15

Silva invented the liquid filled compass in 1933 and have pretty much been world leaders since then. So in combination with a good map, the Expedition 15 is our recommendation when you’re off on an adventure. It’s their top of the line model. You’ll find the usual standard measuring scales and compensation for magnetic declination. Plus it’s got a few added extras that may just keep you alive if the worst happens too!

Dress Making Pins

pins

Prym is a company founded on a belief that quality and user oriented solutions would make it an internationally leading supplier of sewing and needle craft solutions. As Germany’s oldest family owned business they were not wrong.

Although they produce a huge selection of products we have chosen to feature the simple dress making pin. A staple item you will find in almost any sewing box across the globe, that also works great on your notice board too.

Made from a hardened and tempered steel these pins have a high flexibility and their slender, elongated points make them easy to use without damaging the fabric.

Paint Marker

At iyoebo we like making an impression and leaving our mark, and we think there is nothing better for doing this than Krink’s Metalic K-60 Paint Marker. This stuff will write on most surfaces and the squeezable body lets you control the flow.

metalic

Developed from a need for more versatile inks, Krink as grown to be one of the worlds leading art suppliers in the last 15 years. The product first reached the shelves after a creative collaboration with the Alife store in NYC. The first batches sold out every time and now Krink has grown into a range of inks used across the world.

Kitchen Knife

Although this is the youngest product we have featured so far on iyoebo. We think it has got what it takes to make the cut. The IF4000 range of knives were created by Sam Hecht of Industrial Facility in 2006. Taylors Eye Witness, the manufacturer was established in 1838 in Sheffield, England.

chefsmedium

We’ve picked out the 21cm Chef’s Medium Knife as we felt it was of a good size to make it a versatile kitchen knife. As you would expect the blade is made from a high carbon steel, but the real detail is in the handle which made from a special combination of materials to provide a cool to touch quality.

Vacuum Bottle

It can be the simplest bit of innovation that set sets a product apart from its competitors. With a desire to create a vacuum bottle that could be taken anywhere, William Stanley overcame the fragility of glass by successfully creating the first all-steel vacuum bottle in 1913. Nearly 100 years later the idea is still going strong.

We have chosen to feature the classic 1.1QT Limited Edition bottle. Stanley says it celebrates heritage without compromising performance, and we definitely agree! As you would expect there is a lifetime guarantee, and it is easy to get hold of spares if you loose a part whilst you are out and about.

Jug and Tumbler

Conceived in 1932, Aino Aalto’s namesake design was inspired by “the rings made when a stone hits water”. Although part of a larger series of products we have decided to feature both the 22cl tumbler and the 120cl pitcher.

AinoAalto_glass_22cl_clear

Axe

The craftsmanship invested in any Gränsfors axe is exactly what we love at iyoebo.

After dumping mass manufacture in the 1980’s Gränsfors got back to their founding belief that ”when all unnecessary steps are taken out of the production process you end up with a more functional and environmentally sane product, and at the same time a more appealing one”

We couldn’t agree more, and out of their range of wood cutting excellence we have chosen to feature the Small Forest Axe.

206_Gränsfors-Small-Forest-Axe_100-6610

As the name suggests this axe is a shorter version of the Scandinavian Forest Axe, which makes it easy to take on a hike, at the same time as being great for splitting firewood.

Like all their products you will find the initials of the blacksmith who forged your axe on the head. This is combined with an American Hickory handle that is soaked in hot linseed oil, dripped dry and then finished with beeswax to resist dirt. All of this quality and attention to detail is backed up with a 20-year guarantee.

Manufacturer: Gränsfors
Country of Origin: Sweden
